Cultural Practitioners

Over 20 Cultural Practitioners!
The festival will feature 20 cultural practitioners who will demonstrate and share their ancient talents and help create an interactive cultural fair as part of the event allowing participants to watch skilled practitioners demonstrate their arts, including

  • crafting drums,
  • do lomilomi massage,
  • beat kapa,
  • carve wood,
  • use plants as medicine,
  • stamp with bamboo,
  • decorate gourds,
  • weave a lauhala hat
  • make feather or flower lei,
  • and learn about all different types of taro.

For keiki (children) we will be offering fun activities about Hawaiian navigation, kapa stamps, making and playing nose flutes, pohaku shaping, Hawaiian Astronomy and Hawaiian Archeology
