SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR PUNALU`U
– ISLAND WIDE SIGN WAVING CAMPAIGN, FRIDAY, AUGUST 3RD 3:30PM TO 6PM
– PUNALU`U PU LIKE KAKOU (GATHERING FOR PUNALU`U) AND BEACH CLEAN UP, SATURDAY, AUGUST 11TH 10AM TO 7PM

We need to show Hawaii County Council Members Yagong, Hoffman, Ikeda, Higa and Yoshimoto and the Mayor that it is time stop the delays and to listen to the people of Ka`u and the island of Hawaii and support resolution 169-07 that calls for the protection of the invaluable natural and cultural resources at Punalu`u and Ninole. They need to know that the people who elected them want the sacred lands of this island protected. The people of Ka`u and the island have spoken through surveys, thousands of letters, petitions and countless hearings and each time it has been demonstrated that a clear majority or the people of Ka`u and the island want Punalu`u protected.
We are organizing two events in August that will help demonstrate the depth of support the resolution has across the island and in Ka`u that everyone can be a part of:
ISLAND WIDE SIGN WAVING CAMPAIGN, FRIDAY, AUGUST 3RD 3:30PM TO 6PM
Where ever you live, all over the island, show your support for Resolution 169-07 by creating a sign and between 3:30pm and 6pm, on Friday, Aug. 3rd go to a major intersection in your area and wave your sign for Punalu`u with aloha. There will be a mass gathering of sign wavers in Hilo on Southbound Hwy 19 @ Panaewa St. (near the exit for the Zoo).
Please be safe and do not interfere with traffic. Send pictures and video of your sign waving to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will post them online.
PUNALU`U PU LIKE KAKOU (GATHERING FOR PUNALU`U) AND BEACH CLEAN UP, SATURDAY, AUGUST 11TH 10AM TO 7PM
Please join us at the Punalu`u Pavilions on Sat., August 11th for a Beach Clean Up (starting at 10am) and Gathering to express your support for the protection of the mana and beauty of Punalu`u. Come and bring music, aloha and something to eat to share (potluck) and enjoy the beauty of Punalu`u. Bring trash bags for the clean-up too. At 2pm. there will be pule (prayer) for Punalu`u that everyone can participate in.
May we all come together and unite for the protection of Punalu`u and the sacred lands on this island.
